Beginnings

Sacred Sanctuare In grew from its humble beginnings at the Stanford Counseling Institute, at Stanford University, in 1995 and finally began formally servicing individuals, organizations, and community members in 1998.

Live-In 24/7 Therapy

Our first clients were focused on getting support for substance abuse (and related issues) and rather than go to an in-patient facility, they luckily could utilize our 24/7 live-in intervention services as a viable alternative. When we are allowed to treat clients in their own homes, we become privy to all the things that may be causing the issues in our client's life. By having a front seat to everything on a 24/7 basis, we can begin to formulate an appropriate plan for intervention. During this time we work with our client, family and friends, house staff, and anyone else on the premise as they interact with our client in normal day-to-day activities. As engagement and treatment continues on and evolves, our client is able to slowly but surely regain a semblance of improved quality of life without ever having to step foot outside the privacy and protection of their own home. This approach also helps to address future issues by creating sustainable modifications to their living environment.
 

Expanding

In between this specialized 24/7 In-House Intervention, we also try to help our clients with other challenges and issues that can be addressed with regular sessions outside of the home and usually on the phone. We have been involved in doing sessions tele-sessions way before 2020 because it offers our clients the greatest flexibility, access, and privacy. In person sessions are also available but most clients do not request them for the reasons just noted. We have to continued to provide therapeutic support, treatments, and interventions across the board since then covering the spectrum of domains such as: Addictions - Substance use/abuse whether it's alcohol, tobacco, or drugs — is often a way of coping with an unresolved problems, Anxiety/Stress, Suicide, Self-Harm, Depression, Grief/Loss, Illnesses, Phobias, Relationship issues, Loneliness, Education, Conflict Resolutions, Arbitration, Workplace, Family, Friends, Anger Management, Faith Self-Development - General feelings of being stuck and seeking more, etc...

Future

We hope to continue our mission, "Where Everything Has a Purpose," in helping everyone realize that everything they do fulfills a need. Within fulfilling that need there exists a purpose. The question is, are we aware of that purpose? Once we become aware of these purpose/s, our abilities to successfully navigate life grow exponentially. We are able to live life more fully and completely without denying any of our humanity. We ride the ups and downs with satisfaction knowing and understanding their place in our purpose we have been able to recognize and identify. We hope we may be of service to you if you so desire.
